I was invited by my MU colleague Alex Mann to be on a panel at The Bedford, Balham, this evening exploring marketing strategies for musicians at a seminar entitled ‘In the Mix’. I was joined by the delightful Laura Kidd aka She Makes War, Bristol based multi-instrumentalist, filmmaker and digital polymath; Jessica Roe, Director of Level Theory, leading digital, social and music marketing consultant; Bryan Johnson, Artist Ambassador at Spotify who represents artists’ interests and career development through the Spotify model; plus Mark Bamping, Head of Engagement at the Aurora Orchestra, who oversees the Orchestra’s marketing, fundraising and communications. It was a pleasure to meet in the afterwards so many members seeking more information, including harpist Seana Davey, guitarist Antonio Forcione, vocalist Sharleen Linton, guitarist David Goo and the many other musicians who packed the theatre for the event.
