My wife Julie and I took the somewhat unusual step of visiting Stamford Bridge today to take our son Ben on the Chelsea stadium tour and to visit the club’s museum. It was my birthday, but one of the best presents for me is introducing Ben to new experiences and we were blessed with a particularly sunny day as well as an informative guide, both of which made for a very interesting and enjoyable afternoon. Ben and I acted as captains of opposing teams as we led our party out onto the pitch side. Our guide looked completely thrown as, when asked which team I was captaining, I said AFC Bournemouth. Hopefully this will not seem so odd to her come next season! Upon our return home, we hooked up with Julie’s daughter Lisa and we had a superb curry at Agra in Eden Park.
